Oil and gas major ConocoPhillips has reportedly hired a jack-up drilling rig from Malaysian offshore driller UMW.
According to VesselsValue.com, ConocoPhillips hired the UMW Naga 4 jack-up on a three-month term deal.
The fixing date of the deal was November 30, 2017, with the start date scheduled for May 1, 2018. The rig will end the contract with ConocoPhillips on July 31, 2018.
No additional information regarding the deal was disclosed. The location where the rig will work as well as the financial details remain unknown.
The last time Offshore Energy Today reported on a contract awarded to the UMW Naga 4 was regarding a deal by Petronas Carigali in mid-May .
The deal for the jack-up was for two firm wells with the option of drilling additional 1+1+1 well, with a starting date in June 2017.
The rig is an independent-leg cantilever jack-up that has a drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and a rated operating water depth of 400 feet.
