The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, has completed fall 2017 dredging of the Cleveland Harbor federal navigation channel, with 70,000 cubic yards of sediment removed and stored in a confined disposal facility.

“ We look forward to continuing with the positive momentum we have made with our Cleveland stakeholders ,” said USACE Buffalo District Commander Lt. Col. Adam Czekanski.

“ Our goal is to build and strengthen relationships with Cleveland area stakeholders, while fully supporting beneficial use options for dredged material.”

USACE said in their latest announcement that a contract modification has been issued to execute spring 2018 dredging of another 200,000 cubic yards of sediment from the federal navigation channel, consistent with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Water Quality Certification, beginning May 2018.
