Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) informed that Seaway Heavy Lifting’s Stanislav Yudin vessel has installed a final set of offshore foundation piles at the Beatrice offshore wind farm.
The work has seen 86 sets of four piles installed at the wind farm site in the Outer Moray Firth.
Following the completion of piles installation, eighty four jackets that will support the Beatrice wind turbines, are due in summer 2018. The remaining two jackets will each support a Siemens Offshore Transformer Module.
The Beatrice offshore wind farm will consist of 84 Siemens 7 MW turbines connected with the 140 km of inter array cables to the two Siemens offshore transformer modules.
The Beatrice will be operated from a base in Wick and capable of providing enough energy to power up to 450,000 homes, when fully operational by the end of 2019.
