Cable installation works at the Beatrice offshore wind farm construction site are advancing with Siem Offshore and Nexans carrying out their part of the subsea campaign.

Nexans Skagerrak cable laying vessel is completing burial of export cable 1, while the two Siem vessels CLV Siem Aimery and Siem Stingray are installing inter-array cables.

The inter-array cables work, which started in November on behalf of Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL), will see the cable laying vessel (CLV) Siem Aimery install up to 24 inter-array cables during the first cable installation campaign.

The Siem Stingray will undertake the personnel transfer to WTG foundations, crane operations to transfer equipment to and from WTG foundations, work-class ROV activities at the seabed, and survey activities along the planned inter-array cable routes linking the appropriate WTG foundations.

Cable burial will be undertaken by a tracked jet trencher launched from the Siem Aimery.

To remind, earlier this month Seaway Heavy Lifting’s vessel, Stanislav Yudin, installed a final set of offshore foundation piles at the Beatrice offshore wind farm.

The work has seen 86 sets of four piles installed at the wind farm site in the Outer Moray Firth.

Following the completion of piles installation, eighty four jackets that will support the Beatrice wind turbines, are due in summer 2018.
