French engineering company Bardot Group has appointed Julien Blanc as the head of newly created department for strategic consulting for energy transition.

As the head of the new division called ZETA, short for Z-Energy Transition Anticipation, Blanc will oversee the internal council for the strategic positioning of marine renewable energy technology solutions developed by the Bardot Group.

He will also oversee the consulting with the public authorities on their transitional energy strategy, Bardot Group informed.

The new division was created on December 1, 2017, as part of the extension of the group’s marine renewable energy activities, Bardot Group said.

Among other projects, Bardot Group is also developing ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC), and sea water air-conditioning (SWAC) projects.

The company plans to install the OTEC system in the Maldives by early 2018, and has recently opened an OTEC Lab facility which will be used for the optimization of its OTEC systems
