Liquefied natural gas (LNG) volumes at Lithuania’s first and only import terminal in the port of Klaipeda rose significantly in November compared tot he same month a year ago.

The Klaipeda LNG import terminal regasified 1.64 terawatt hours (TWh) in the month under review, a rise of just over 80 percent as compared to 911,000 MWh in November 2016, according to the latest data by the terminal operator, Klaipėdos Nafta.

However, during the January-November period, the LNG facility in total re-gasified and reloaded 13.3 TWh of the fuel, down 3.3 percent as compared to the same period in 2016.

Deliveries to Lithuania’s LNG terminal are being split between Litgas, a part of state-controlled energy group Lietuvos Energija, Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas, and Lithuanian fertilizer producer Achema.

Revenues coming from regas and reloading activities from Höegh LNG’s FSRU Independence used as Lithuania’s first import terminal in Klaipeda were at 5.6 million euros ($6.6 million) in November, 1.8 percent up on the corresponding month in 2016.

In the 10-month period, revenues rose 0.7 percent to 96.5 million euros, the data shows.
