Seatronics Appoints Manager for Middle East Region

Seatronics, a marine electronic equipment specialist in subsea services group Acteon, has named Akram Ali as regional manager in the Middle East.

Ali, who will be based out of Seatronics’ office in Abu Dhabi, will be responsible for leading and developing opportunities in the Middle East region with a particular focus on establishing long-term relationships with key authorities and survey companies within the region.

Ali previously held the role of senior surveyor and party chief in companies including Fugro, Subsea 7, Horizon and Acergy, and during his role as operations manager and business development manager at Global Offshore, he established a new ROV division as well as opening new branches in UAE and Cyprus. Ali also worked with Ships and Boats Oil Services to establish its hydrographic survey division and opened its new office in Canada.

Phil Middleton , Group managing director, Seatronics, said: “Seatronics are committed to working in partnership with our clients to truly understand their challenges and develop cost effective solutions to increase efficiencies in their business.

“This will be a focus for Akram, who will continue to use his extensive experience to benefit our customers. His appointment has already seen the award of several long-term projects. I welcome him to the leadership team at Seatronics.”

Ali added: “This is a new challenge that I am ready to take on, working alongside Seatronics’ senior management to achieve our company expansion plan in the region.”
