American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) granted approval in principle (AIP) to Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding for its LNG power vessel.
This LNG power supply vessel integrates LNG receiver, storage, re-gasification, electric power generation and transmission, with the LNG storage tank volume of 32,000 cubic meters and 100MW power capacity, ABS said.
The classification society noted that the vessel has been designed according to the applicable requirements of ABS Rules and IMO regulations.
Speaking of the AiP, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding’s vice president Jin Yanzi said that it is a validation of the early design work which will enable further advancement of the concept.
