Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG project in Louisiana, currently the only such facility to ship U.S. shale gas overseas, progressed with the construction activities during November.

In its monthly filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Cheniere informs that the Stage 3 (Train 5) construction has reached 81.1 percent completion.

Engineering and procurement are complete with subcontract and direct hire work are 61.7 percent and 56.9 percent done, respectively.

Cheniere notes in its filing that engineering is complete and focused on construction support. Procurement continues to deliver the instrumentation and valves while supporting field activities.

ISBL and OSBL foundations continue to be installed with an emphasis on the ISBL LNG and storm trench area work. OSBL focus is on the LNG sump and drainage outfall.

Train 5 is projecting June 2019 for substantial completion, Cheniere said.

The company is developing up to six trains at the Sabine Pass terminal with each train expected to have a nominal production capacity of approximately 4.5 million tons per annum of LNG.
