The photo, shared by E.ON, is showing some of the 60 transition pieces waiting in the Mukran Port in Sassnitz to be installed on the Arkona offshore wind farm.

Jumbo’s Heavy Lift Crane Vessel (HLCV) Fairplayer is installing the TPs at the site some 35 kilometres northeast of the island of Rügen in the German Baltic Sea.

All of the TPs, built by Bladt Industries, are expected to be installed by early 2018.

The 385MW Arkona, owned by E.ON and Statoil, will comprise 60 Siemens 6MW turbines installed on monopile foundations at water depths of 23 to 37 meters.

The commissioning of the wind farm is scheduled for 2019.
