The International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) has published the latest edition of their Terra et Aqua magazine.

The new Terra et Aqua shines a spotlight on the dredging industry’s proactive mentality, according to IADC.

“ The December issue delves into the subject through articles on the following aspects: a methodology for the sustainable development of ports, research demonstrating the viability of a 100 per cent green maritime technology and a protocol which strives for risk-free pipeline transport ,” IADC said.

The latest edition includes the following articles:

Towards Sustainable Port Development ANNELIES BOEREMA, KATRIEN VAN DER BIEST, PATRICK MEIRE An ecosystem services assessment of Port Botany’s expansion identifies the project’s economic, environmental and socio-economic impacts for a universal stakeholder guide which ensures sustainable development.

Towards a Green Maritime Technology L.W. VAN INGEN, M. B. G. CASTRO The growing awareness of the need for diversified energy sources has collided with the maritime industry. Research initiative JOULES was created to assess the viability of a vessel being 100 per cent green by increasing efficiency and reducing emissions.

Transport of Pipeline Optimisation M. TRONCKOE, S. VAN DEN BERGHE, P. VERPOEST Formulated by employees of Jan De Nul Group, the solution which won the Safety Award 2017 upgraded each facet of the pipeline transportation process, including from the activities performed in storage facilities as well as while travelling to faraway project locations.
