Report: Repsol Sinopec UK removing workers from Montrose Alpha platform

Repsol Sinopec UK is reportedly removing a number of workers from its offshore platform in the UK North Sea

Repsol Sinopec UK is reportedly removing a number of workers from its offshore platform in the UK North Sea due to drainage issues.

According to BBC, the oil company said it would remove some 20 non-essential workers from the Montrose Alpha platform on Wednesday due to issues with drains in the accommodation area.

Production from the platform has not been affected, BBC has reported.

The Montrose Area, comprising the Montrose, Arbroath, Arkwright, Brechin, Wood, Godwin, Shaw and Cayley fields, is located 200 km east of Aberdeen. The Montrose Alpha platform was installed in 1976. Repsol Sinopec, the operator has been working to extend the life of the Montrose Area to beyond 2030 through the Montrose Area Redevelopment (MAR) project.
