The 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm, comprising 67 Siemens 6MW wind turbines installed off the coast of Norfolk in England, achieved a production of 1TWh during offshore installation and commissioning in 2017.
After the first wind turbine was installed in early January 2017, it was set in production on 7 February , delivering electricity to the UK National Grid.
At the beginning of September, Statoil announced that all 67 turbines were producing electricity . The offshore wind farm entered full operation the next month, when it also started receiving payments on generated electricity under the Contract for Difference (CfD).
Statoil, Masdar and former stakeholder Statkraft officially opened Dudgeon on 22 November 2017. As of recently, China Resources (Holdings) Company owns the 30% stake in the project after buying it from Statkraft.
Dudgeon offshore wind farm, which is providing renewable energy to around 410,000 homes, was completed on schedule and below the budget of GBP 1.5 billion that was set when the investment decision was made in 2014.
