The International Maritime Industries Forum (IMIF) is to be merged with Maritime London, an association of UK-based organizations providing maritime services.
The announcement comes after members of Maritime London approved a proposal to incorporate IMIF into the association.
As informed, Maritime London will proceed to integrate the activities of IMIF during 2018.
“I believe that this merger will benefit greatly the members of both Maritime London and IMIF, providing a wider platform and creating a stronger voice for the members of both organisations, not least in ensuring that the UK and London remain the leading international maritime professional services centre,” Jos Standerwick, Maritime London CEO , commented.
Established in 1975, IMIF runs a programme of “highly informative” talks featuring high-level speakers in London and organizes an annual dinner.
In a separate move, the appointment of four new directors to join the Maritime London board was approved by Maritime London members at its annual general meeting on December 18, 2017. The newly appointed directors are Ian Gaunt from London Maritime Arbitrators Association, Richard Greiner from Moore Stephens, Mark Jackson from the Baltic Exchange and Britt Pickering from The Shipowners’ Club.
Rodney Lenthall, David Moorhouse and Jeremy Penn have stepped down from the board.
