Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility at Pampa Melchorita has shipped its last cargo of the year 2017 to Japan over the past weekend.
According to the shipping data provided by the state-owned Perupetro, the 173,400-cbm LNG carrier Barcelona Knutsen loaded the cargo and departed for Japan on December 30.
It was the fifth cargo to be dispatched from Peru to Japan during the year.
In addition to the cargo to Japan, the cargo that was initially reported to be heading to China, onboard the Methane Alison Victoria, the 2007-built LNG carrier capable of transporting 145,000 cubic meters of LNG, is now shown to be heading for South Korea, the shipping data shows.
With the cargo heading to Japan, the Peruvian facility has closed the year with a total of 128 cargoes shipped, 43 of which have been sent to Spain, with other destinations being, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, France, Argentina, China, Taiwan and England.
The total number of cargoes the facility has shipped since it started operations in June 2010 has risen to 438.
