Spanish LNG terminal operator Reganosa, said that the Yamal LNG cargo, first to be consumed in continental Europe, has been delivered to its Mugardos terminal in the port of Ferrol.

As LNG World News reported earlier , it was the second cargo shipped from the Novatek-operated Yamal LNG plant in the Russian Arctic, that was transferred to the 162,000-cbm LNG tanker Clean Ocean, via a transshipment operation at the Dutch Gate LNG terminal.

Reganosa said in its statement on Monday that the Galician facility is the closest delivery point for Yamal LNG cargoes in the Iberian peninsula.

Yamal LNG started exporting the chilled fuel in December with the first cargo landing at the UK’s Grain LNG terminal, and now possibly on its way to the United States.

The second cargo was loaded onto the ice-class tanker Boris Vilkitsky and the volumes were transferred to the Clean Ocean at the Gate LNG terminal before finally landing in Spain.

At full capacity, the three-train Yamal LNG plant will be producing 16.5 mtpa of LNG and will be using the Northern Sea Route to ship cargoes to the Asian-Pacific markets during the Arctic summer.

For year-round deliveries, Yamal LNG signed a 20-year transshipment deal for up to 8 million tons of LNG annually at the port of Zeebrugge.
