Vattenfall has finalized the installation of 49 foundations for Denmark’s largest wind farm, Horns Rev 3, in the North Sea north-west of Blåvands Huk.
The installation vessel Innovation has carried out the work.
The farm will be in full operation and ready to cover 425,000 Danish households’ annual electricity consumption by 2020, Vattenfall said.
“ The installation of the last foundation marks an important milestone for the project. And while the weather gods have not always favoured us, the installation and transportation of foundations have been without major challenges and not one single accident, ” said Martin Zappe , project director for Horns Rev 3.
“The construction process is progressing as planned, which we are of course pleased with. This is due to a professional project team and good cooperation with our partners.”
The next step, which will start by the end of spring, will be to install the transition pieces between the foundation and the turbine tower.
