The scope of dredging works performed by FSUE Rosmorport at access canals and water areas of Russia’s seaports exceeded 9.5 million m³ of material in 2017, the company said in their latest release.
The majority of dredging operations was performed at Volga-Caspian canal (4.5 million m³), Kaliningrad canal (1.25 million m³), Azov-Don canal (0.5 million m³), Taganrog access canal (1.25 million m³).
Rosmorport also conducted dredging works at the ports of Arkhangelsk, Makhachkala, Tuapse, Temryuk, Yeisk, Kavkaz, Shaktersk, Ust-Luga and Novorossiysk.
In 2017, the Rosmorport’s dredging fleet removed 6.4 million m³ of material.
In November 2017, Onezhsky Shipbuilding, Ship Repair Yard (Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia) hosted a keel laying ceremony for new trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) 2000 of DAMEN design for FSUE Rosmorport.
The shipyard is also building two self-propelled hopper barges for Rosmorport.
