Ocean Thermal Energy Corporation (OTE) has appointed William S. Joyce to its board of advisors.
Joyce, also known as Lanny, is the Director of Utilities and Energy Management in the Energy and Sustainability Department at Cornell University in New York.
Lanny has over 30 years of experience in district energy, utility systems, district cooling, deep water cooling, combined heat and power, and commercial and industrial refrigeration.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell, and is also a member of the International District Energy Association (IDEA), Association of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

OTE is a Pennsylvania-based company that designs and develops deep-water hydrothermal clean-energy systems which include producing fossil-fuel free electricity through ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) and environmentally friendly cooling though seawater air conditioning (SWAC).
The company currently has eight OTEC/SWAC projects in the proposals stage. Subject to the timely execution of these projects, OTE expects to generate revenue of close to $850 million during the next five years, and roughly $5.1 billion over the lifetime of these contracts, according to the report by StockWatchIndex.
