Polish gas transmission operator, Gaz-System, said it has received 25 cargoes of liquefied natural gas at the President Lech Kaczyński terminal in Świnoujście since the start of operation in December 2015.

The company said in a statement that the latest cargo arrived on January 8, onboard the Q-Flex LNG carrier Al Gattara that delivered over 200,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.

With the latest delivery, the terminal has received a total of 5 million cubic meters of the chilled fuel, and regasified some 2.9 billion cubic meters of gas, delivering it to the gas transmission system.

Gaz-System added that cargoes have so far been delivered to the terminal once a month, however, the terminal will be receiving two monthly deliveries in 2018.

The statement also reads that the expansion of the terminal is being implemented, that will see the terminal capable of handling 7.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually, which would cover half of the Polish demand.

The expansion includes developing LNG bunkering infrastructure, small and medium-scale LNG tankers loading and unloading as well as transshipment services.

According to Gaz-System’s plans, the additional infrastructure will include a railway connection enabling the loading of railway cryogenic ISO tanks.
