Royal IHC shipyard in Kinderdijk, the Netherlands, is making good progress with the construction of the new 900kW cutter suction dredger (CSD) Jarash.
Named after an ancient city in Jordan, the custom-built stationary CSD is being built for Arab Potash Company (APC).
According to the shipbuilder, IHC has mounted the ladder gantry on the CSD Jarash.
Royal IHC is planning to launch the newbuild this spring. After her arrival in Jordan later this year, the vessel will start dredging in the potash mines of the southern Dead Sea.
This is not the first Royal IHC dredger for APC, the 1966-built CSD Beaver® KING HOLLAND XXVI, is still part of the company’s fleet.
