Peru’s natural gas liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped another cargo to South Korea.
According to the shipping data from the state-owned Perupetro, LNG carrier Solaris with the capacity to transport up to 155,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel departed the facility on January 16.
The tri-fuel diesel electric LNG carrier built in 2014 is owned by GasLog Partners set course for South Korea, however, Perupetro has not revealed its exact destination.
The vessel is currently on a multi-year time charter with a wholly owned subsidiary of LNG giant Shell through June 2021.
With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 440 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.
The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
