Nordic LNG supplier and terminal operator, Skangas will hold a naming ceremony for a brand new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier in Finland’s Port of Turku on January 25.
The Ice Class 1A Super LNG carrier with a carrying capacity of 18,000-cbm will be named Coral EnergICE. The vessel uses the boil off of its cargo to fuel its propulsion.
To remind, Skangas, which is a unit of Gasum, and Dutch shipping company Anthony Veder, the owner of the vessel, signed a long-term time-charter deal for the small-scale carrier back in 2016.
The tanker was built at German shipyard Neptun Werft. Later this year, it will start regular LNG deliveries to Pori and Tornio terminals in Finland.
Anthony Veder funded the construction of the vessel via a 66 million euros ($81m) sustainable shipping loan.
