UAE-based construction specialist Lamprell has loaded out the first shipment of 8 fully-assembled jackets from its Jebel Ali facility built for East Anglia One offshore wind farm project.

The vessel will set sail for its client’s facility at Vlissingen in the Netherlands shortly, Lamprell noted.

In November 2016 Lamprell reported a contract award from ScottishPower Renewables for the fabrication of multiple jackets and piles.

Dockwise , a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boskalis, has been contracted for the jackets transportation.

The first shipment of partially assembled jackets is said to be well on its way to Belfast for final assembly by Harland & Wolff.

According to Lamprell, the final load of piles is also in the process of being transported to Vlissingen in accordance with the project schedule.

Lamprell’s deal for the East Anglia One is worth approximately $225 million. However, the issues on the project will impact the company’s profitability in 2017, with total losses on the project to completion estimated to be approximately US$80 million, which will be booked in full in 2017.
