The European Technology and Innovation Platform for Ocean Energy (ETIP Ocean) has organized a webinar to discuss tools for the optimization of ocean renewable energy projects.

The webinar , to be held on January 29, 2018, will feature discussions related to development and implementation of optimization tools, with features ranging from optimal array designs to financial analyses for ocean energy projects.

Raymond Alcorn from University College Cork’s spin-out company Exceedence, and Encarni Medina-Lopez from University of Edinburgh will be hosted as speakers of the webinar.

Projects using optimization tools are more likely to be successful, according to ETIP Ocean.

They also gain a method for assessing and comparing performance which can be useful for future decisions and in stage-gate programs, ETIP Ocean said.

ETIP Ocean is regarded as an advisory body to the European Commission. It is managed by Ocean Energy Europe and the University of Edinburgh, bringing together around 250 experts from 150 organizations covering the entire European ocean energy sector.
