US-based Brand Industrial Services (BrandSafway) has acquired the Dutch Venko Groep BV, a portfolio company of Mentha Capital.

Moving forward, the company will operate as Venko, A BrandSafway Company, and will become a part of Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services in Europe.

According to Venko, the acquisition will see combined customers benefitting from a broader range of services and greater depth of expertise.

“By leveraging the highly specialised knowledge and capabilities of Venko, we will be able to provide expanded coatings services to Brand’s European customers. At the same time, with our support, Venko will now be able to offer their customers a broader inventory of access equipment and additional industrial services, such as insulation and fireproofing,” Dave Witsken , President of Energy and Industrial for BrandSafway, said.

In August last year, Venko won an offshore wind farm framework agreement for maintenance and integrity services to an undisclosed blue chip client, which included detailed condition surveys to all ageing offshore assets, technical and logistical support, materials supply and coating repairs to fenders and safe access areas.

Shortly after, the company secured repeat business for the same client, with the works including corrosion protection and scaffolding access on the client’s offshore substation in the United Kingdom.

Venko specializes in the maintenance of coatings on steel structures, from offshore applications to civil projects and bridges in Europe. Founded in 1975, Venko is based in Hoogeveen, with branch locations in Arnhem, Den Helder and Ridderkerk in the Netherlands, and Great Yarmouth and Aberdeen in the United Kingdom.
