The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) has on Thursday issued a guidance on liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering.
The document named “Guidance on LNG Bunkering to Port Authorities and Administrations” was prepared in close cooperation with the European Commission (DG MOVE), member states and industry within the context of the European Sustainable Shipping Forum, according to EMSA.
The document has an ambivalent “informative” and “guidance” nature, aiming to provide Port Authorities/Administrations with the necessary advice and reference to guide their actions throughout the planning and operational stages of LNG bunkering, it said.
