Jan De Nul to Install Trianel Borkum II Turbines

Jan De Nul has won a contract by Senvion for the installation of wind turbine generators (WTG) at the 203MW Trianel Borkum II (TWB II) offshore wind farm in Germany.

Jan De Nul has won a contract by Senvion for the installation of wind turbines at the 203MW Trianel Borkum II (TWB II) offshore wind farm in Germany.

Under the contract, Jan De Nul will be in charge of installing 32 Senvion 6.33MW turbines, as well as providing offshore mechanical completion works.

The turbine installation works at the site some 40km north of the island of Borkum, within the German Bight sector, are planned to start in the spring of 2019.

Jan De Nul is also in charge, under a separate contract, of installing the HVAC export cable for the TWB II project.

The TWB II wind farm will be constructed throughout this year and is scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2019.

The wind farm is the second phase of the Trianel Windpark Borkum offshore wind farm, which has been operational since 2015.

Shareholders of TWB II are EWE AG (37.5%), ewz Offshore Borkum GmbH (24.51%) and 17 German municipal utilities together with Trianel GmbH (37.99%).
