Rijkswaterstaat said in its latest announcement that they intend to award a contract for the reinforcement of the Afsluitdijk to Levvel B.V. (Joint Venture in formation).
The JV of BAM PPP PGGM Infrastructure Coöperatie U.A./Van Oord Aberdeen Infrastructure Partners B.V./RebelValley B.V. will be responsible for designing, building and pre-financing operations.
In addition, this consortium will be responsible for maintenance of this area for the next 25 years, said Van Oord in its release.
Construction works are set to begin in the autumn of 2018. It is expected that the works on the Afsluitdijk will be completed no later than 2022.
