EDS HV Group has completed cable termination and testing works at the 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm located off Sussex, UK.

EDS was in charge of the termination and testing of the wind farm’s 116 turbines, completing jointing activities on the offshore substation and on the two 150kV export cables, as well as assisting with onshore commissioning activities.

According to Ken Ritson, Group Managing Director of EDS, the company worked as a Tier 1 contractor on the project and finished its scope of work on target and as per the program.

The UK-based high voltage engineering specialist won the contract for the termination and testing activities back in October 2016.

Built by E.ON, UK Green Investment Rampion Ltd and Enbridge, the Rampion offshore wind farm comprises 116 MHI Vestas 3.45MW.

The wind farm generated its first power after the first turbine was brought online in November last year. It is scheduled to be completed and fully operational later this year.
