Bordelon Marine, a provider of marine transportation services, has committed to the subsea and dive support arenas with the completion of its third ultra-light intervention vessel (ULIV).

With the installation of the SMST 60t knuckle boom crane with active heave compensation on board the former platform supplier Connor Bordelon, Bordelon Marine has completed its third ULIV, SMST Equipment said on Tuesday.

With this new vessel, the U.S.-based company is now fully committed to the subsea and dive support markets.

After the successful sea trials of the Connor Bordelon in January, the vessel is now chartered to Oceaneering to support IMR and light subsea intervention work.

The equipment on all three vessels of Bordelon Marine’s ULIV fleet is similar, making operations, repairs, and inventory more efficient.

As for the installed crane, it is capable of handling, lifting and lowering equipment under rough sea conditions. The active heave compensation system compensates the vertical motions of the vessels. It is also worth noting that the crane aboard the Connor Bordelon is identical to the SMST-delivered crane on the sister vessel Brandon Bordelon.
