Australian services provider Valmec said it had secured a renewal of its long-term contract with Origin Energy on the Australia Pacific LNG project.

Origin is the operator of the upstream part of the APLNG project while ConocoPhillips is in charge for the downstream segment.

Since the contract’s inception in 2016, Valmec has provided specialist technicians, equipment and parts within its preventative and corrective maintenance services scop.

The company also delivered brownfield construction services to the APLNG project’s upstream gas compression and power generation assets located in South West Queensland.

Based on historical performance, the services contract renewal has an estimated total value of A$15 million p.a. whilst in addition, the Valmec construction team has delivered over A$10.7 million of brownfield projects to date, Calmec said in its statement.

The APLNG project includes a two-train 9 mtpa liquefaction plant on Curtis Island near Gladstone.

The LNG project is a joint venture between ConocoPhillips (37.5%), Origin (37.5%) and Sinopec (25%).
