COSLProspector, COSL Drilling Europe’s newest and largest drilling rig, has reached the North Sea and will be arriving at CCB just outside of Bergen on Saturday, March 17 .

The owner of the rig informed on Friday that the COSLPropector will be prepared at CCB in March and April for possible operations in the Norwegian and UK sectors.

The COSLProspector is a semi-submersible drilling delivered from the Yantai Raffles yard in November 2014. The rig was designed to operate in water depths up to 1500 meters and drilling depths to 7500 meters.

COSLProspector was built in accordance with Norwegian regulations and with class notations from DNVGL within CLEAN, ICT-T and winterization, making it customized for drilling operations in the Barents Sea.

The rig has previously drilled five deep water wells in the South China Sea.
