Axess Group has been awarded a frame agreement renewal to its quality control services contract for Subsea 7’s new subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF) projects.

Axess, a provider of integrity solutions for the offshore, maritime and energy industries, said on Friday that the eight-year contract with Subsea 7 would see the company provide all inspection services to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with the client’s SURF equipment.

The work scope can include on-site inspections, review of procedures and certificates, non-destructive testing, material handling, welding, and coating inspection.

Guttorm Naess , Axess Orkanger QC service manager, said: “We have been delivering high-quality QC services to Subsea 7 all over the world since 2009, and the renewal of the existing contract proves that our commitment to safety is highly valued.”

In related news, Offshore Energy Today reported on Thursday that Subsea 7 was awarded a conventional project, in shallow water.

The company said that the offshore execution of the awarded conventional project is planned for 2019.
