Bo Larsen, commercial director of Kosan Crisplant, a part of Makeen Energy, has joined the steering committee of GO LNG, an EU funded project to promote LNG as a fuel for the shipping industry.

The project is focusing on the development of demand and accessibility of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Baltic Sea Region, with the aim of reducing air pollution levels by transitioning to LNG as its primary fuel.

Bo Larsen’s new role in the project rides on the back of Kosan Crisplant’s and KC LNG’s engagements in developing the region’s LNG infrastructure through the Nordliq (Nordic Liquefaction) partnership, Makeen Energy said in a statement.

“Increasing the use of LNG as fuel for ships and trucks is a vital step towards a greener, more sustainable shipping industry,” Larsen said.

The project consortium consists of 18 partners from 6 different countries and gathers all major LNG stakeholders in the Baltic States Region
