TechnipFMC has received an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation contract from Sabah Shell Petroleum Company offshore Malaysia.
The contract covers the delivery and installation of subsea equipment including umbilicals, flowlines and the subsea production system for the Gumusut-Kakap Phase 2 project.

Gumusut-Kakap field is Shell’s first deep-water development in Malaysia located in waters up to 1,200 meters deep.
The project uses Shell Smart Fields technology to control production from the undersea wells. Oil is transported to the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal onshore at Kimanis, Malaysia via a 200 km-long pipeline.
The Gumusut-Kakap project is a joint venture between Shell (33%, operator), ConocoPhillips Sabah (33%), PETRONAS Carigali (20%) and Murphy Sabah Oil (14%).
