Bibby WaveMaster 1 has completed its first charter with James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) at the Galloper offshore wind farm and is now preparing to work for Total in the oil and gas sector, starting on 5 April.

The service operation vessel (SOV) departed from Harwich in September 2017, commencing works in support of accelerating the commissioning of the 353MW offshore wind farm.

Toby Edmonds , Project Director of Galloper, said: “The Bibby WaveMaster1 and her team have helped us deliver our ambitious commissioning programme for the project on time, this is made all the more impressive as we did it during one of the wildest winters we’ve had for many years. In some instances their efforts have exceeded expectations and brought forward the commissioning programme by using their Uptime Walk-2-Work system.”

According to the vessel owner and operator, Bibby Marine Services, the Bibby WaverMaster 1, the crew and the back office support worked to not only deliver for the client but also to realise the full potential of the vessel, developing new operating procedures and critically developing experience and crew competency.

Stephen Bolton , Managing Director Bibby Marine Services said: “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to JFMS and the Galloper project for giving this new vessel, owner and operator a chance in this market however also for how they worked with us to shake down the vessel and help us gain experience and, critically, competence in a thorough yet proactive manner. It’s been a great test and we are pleased that all parties have benefited from this new Bibby offering that builds directly on 217 years of history. We now look forward to building on this experience with Total in the Dutch Gas sector where I am confident we will deliver to even greater heights.”
