Oslo-listed Flex LNG, the shipping company controlled by billionaire John Fredriksen, expects to take delivery of its third liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier early May.
The 174,000-cbm LNG carrier Flex Ranger is currently on gas trials at the South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries.
The M-type, Electronically Controlled, Gas Injection (MEGI) LNG vessel is equipped with Mark III cargo containment system.
Its sister vessel Flex Rainbow is scheduled for delivery in July while two more Flex LNG newbuilds are scheduled for delivery in 2019.
All of the six LNG vessels will be MEGI-powered and will have a capacity of 174,300 cbm.
To remind, Flex LNG took delivery of its first two MEGI vessels earlier this year, namely the Flex Endeavour and Flex Enterprise.
LNG tanker Flex Endeavour has been chartered by Uniper while Flex Enterprise is operating in the spot market, according to Flex LNG’s website.
Flex Ranger and Flex Rainbow will be available for charter from May and July, respectively.
