UK-based energy giant and LNG player BP is targeting 119 shipments from its Tangguh export facility in Indonesia on an annual basis to 2020.
During a hearing with the Indonesian parliament, Dharmawan Samsu , BP Indonesia head of country, said the number of cargoes includes 22 a year for the Indonesian domestic market, Reuters reports.
The company intends to keep the cargo numbers consistent up to 2020.
Beyond 2020, Samsu said the project will dedicate around a third of the Tangguh LNG production volumes to the domestic market.
BP is currently expanding the Tangguh LNG export facility adding a liquefaction unit of 3.8 million tons per annum (mtpa). Once the expansion is complete, the project in Papua Barat Province will have a total production capacity to 11.4 mtpa.
Besides BP, the other partners in Tangguh are MI Berau (16.30%), CNOOC Muturi (13.90%), Nippon Oil Exploration (Berau) (12.23%), KG Berau Petroleum (8.56%), KG Wiriagar Petroleum Ltd (1.44%) and Indonesia Natural Gas Resources Muturi Inc. (7.35%).
