Energinet Resumes Kriegers Flak Onshore Cabling Works After Winter Break

Energinet has resumed onshore cable installation works for the Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm after the winter break, and is now ready to start with the final stage of cable excavation on land.

Energinet has resumed onshore cable installation works for the Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm after the winter break, and is now ready to start with the final stage of cable excavation on land.

In 2016, the onshore cable installation began at Rødvig, where the subsea export cable landed , and continued towards Bjæverskov during the campaigns in the autumn of 2016 and spring and summer 2017.

Now, cable burial will take place between Bjæverskov and Ishøj during April and May, and between Ishøj and Hovegård from May to July.

“During spring and summer 2018 we will bury the last 50km of cables from Bjæverskov over Ishøj and on to Hovegård,” said Martin Johansen , senior project manager at Energinet.

Johansen further added that Energinet is in close dialogue with its contractors to minimise the inconvenience to the local residents as much as possible. “Although we strive to do the job with as little inconvenience to local residents and landowners as possible, there will unfortunately be periods where there will be noise and extra traffic in the area.”

The 600MW Kriegers Flak wind farm consists of two sections, each with its own substation: the 200MW Kriegers Flak A (west section) and the 400MW Kriegers Flak B (east section).

Swedish energy company Vattenfall is building the 600MW offshore wind farm in the Danish part of the Baltic Sea, after winning the tender in November 2016.
