Norwegian shipping company DOF has picked up several contracts for vessels and a deal with Nexen for the support of the COSLPioneer rig hook-up operations.
DOF said on Thursday that the company won deals for the Skandi Foula , Skandi Rona , Skandi Feistein , and Skandi Saigon vessels.
Namely, the Skandi Foula was awarded a 60-day contract, beginning in May / June, to support a drilling campaign for a UK-based operator.
The contract for the Skandi Rona will begin in April, and the vessel will support a drilling campaign for another undisclosed UK-based operator. The deal is for two wells which will last around 120 days and may be extended up to 15 months with agreed options.
The Skandi Feistein was awarded contracts with two unnamed UK operators for drilling support for four wells which will last around 180 days, beginning in April. The contract may be extended for up to five more wells with agreed options.
The final vessel deal was awarded to the Skandi Saigon. The vessel was called out for a 45-day job in the Mediterranean under an existing frame agreement with Saipem with a scheduled start up in April.
DOF and Nexen also entered into a frame agreement for anchor handling vessels to support pre-lay and hook up operations of the COSLPioneer rig. The frame agreement is for 18 months and includes utilizing four to six vessels.
COSLPioneer was awarded a deal by Nexen Petroleum UK back in July 2017 to carry out plugging and abandonment work at the Ettrick and Blackbird fields in the UK sector of the North Sea. The work includes 13 wells with a fixed duration of around 12 months and will start in the first quarter of 2018.
