US LNG production company based in Texas, NuBlu Energy opened its Port Allen liquefaction facility for commercial operations.

The 30,000 gallons per day facility features modular technology and the current plant design allows for expansion up to 90,000 gallons per day when the LNG needs in the region rise. The plant is equipped with scales, loadout and 100,000 gallons of permanent storage, NuBlu’s statement reads.

The Port Allen facility is located along the Mississippi River utilizing high and low-pressure pipelines producing a gallon of LNG at efficiencies competitive with small/medium-scale facilities, the company said.

Cory Duck , vice president, corporate growth & development, NuBlu Energy, said, “We are producing 37 gallons of LNG per compression horsepower required at the Port Allen facility. This is a substantial efficiency advantage over other traditional plants.”

Each major piece of equipment is a modular, skid-mounted design making the plant deployable in remote regions or areas not typically suited for these types of projects. This also eliminates the need to build extensive pipeline infrastructure.
