Statoil has awarded Vissim a contract for a sea surveillance system to be installed on the Johan Castberg FPSO.

The contract includes ATEX certified radar domes and software for sea surveillance and radio communications around the FPSO.

“This contract reflects Vissim’s strong market position on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) as well as the good collaboration Vissim has had with Statoil in previous projects in the North Sea. We look forward to leveraging our experience and expertise in delivering the Johan Castberg project,” says CEO of Vissim, Per Arne Henæs .

Vissim will deliver and integrate Radar, AIS, and VHF systems which will further be integrated into Statoil’s marine surveillance center in Bergen. This center provides similar surveillance for all Statoil assets on the NCS.

The project will be delivered from Vissim’s offices in Norway and Slovakia in 2018.
