The Offshore Energy Research Association of Nova Scotia (OERA) has launched a webinar series to highlight recent and ongoing research in the offshore energy sector in this Canadian province, with the first webinar starting on April 19.

The series is designed to help disseminate information on the research activities and results of projects in geoscience and marine renewable energy, OERA stated, adding that the webinars are designed to be a forum for industry, researchers, regulators and community stakeholders to share information, get informed, and discuss research results and implications.

“Our webinars are geared towards a broad audience with a balance between non-technical and scientific jargon, prioritizing research results and their implications for the development of the offshore energy sector,” OERA says.

The series consists of ten webinars featuring experts from the sector and academia, who will discuss their respective topics along with Q&A sessions. The webinars will be held until January 2019, with the first one coming on April 19, when Joel Culina and Melissa Oldreive from the Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy (FORCE) will hold a presentation on “Live Mapping of Minas Passage Flow with X-band Radar”.
