Qatari delegation, led by Saad Sherida Al-Qaabi, CEO and president of Qatar Petroleum discussed the potential of increasing cooperation in the LNG sector with Polish minister of energy Krzysztof Tchorzewski.
During discussions in Warsaw, the parties discussed ways and means of enhancing bilateral energy cooperation, particularly in the LNG sector, Qatar Petroleum said in a statement.
Al-Kaabi and the Qatari delegation have earlier met with Piotr Woźniak, the CEO of Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwom (PGNiG).
The talks, also attended by PGNiG deputy CEO and senior executives, focused on means to enhance and expand existing cooperation with the LNG supplier Qatargas.
In March last year, Qatargas signed an agreement to deliver an additional one million tons per annum of LNG to PGNiG, raising the total LNG quantities to be supplied to PGNiG to two million tons per year.
The agreement came into effect on January 1 of year and will be in effect until 2034, Qatar Petroleum’s statement reads.
The additional LNG quantities are supplied from Qatargas 3a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, ConocoPhillips, and Mitsui & Co., on board Q-Flex LNG vessels to the President Lech Kaczynski LNG Terminal in Swinoujscie, Poland.
