Liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from the United States remained flat week on week, after rising previously.
A total of six LNG carriers departed the two export plants during the week ending April 25, data from the United States Energy Information Administration (EIA), shows.
Four vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 14.9 Bcf departed, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass liquefaction facility in Louisiana, while one vessel with an LNG-carrying capacity of 3.5 Bcf was loading at the terminal on Wednesday, April 25.
Two LNG tankers, with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 7.5 Bcf were loaded at the Dominion Energy Cove Point liquefaction terminal in Maryland.
One of these tankers, LNG Sakura, capable of transporting 3.9 Bcf of the chilled fuel, is carrying the first Cove Point LNG export to Japan. AIS data provided by VesselsValue shows the vessel is currently at the Panama Canal after departing the export plant on April 22.
Since the start of LNG shipments on March 1, a total of six vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 19.9 Bcf, departed the facility.
