Cashman Dredging and Marine Contracting Co., LLC, of Quincy, Massachusetts, has won a $6.5 million Jacksonville Harbor maintenance dredging contract, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said in their latest announcement.

According to USACE, these operations include maintenance dredging of Cut-7 through Cut -45, Cut-55, Cut-G, and the Lower Terminal Channel, in Duval County.

“ Work is divided into a base and four optional bid items. Incidental work for the base and options includes endangered species observers, dedicated manatee and sea turtle observers, and turbidity monitoring ,” USACE said.

The base work consists of maintenance dredging from Cut-55, Station 38+00 through Lower Terminal Channel Station 65+00.

Award of these options is subject to work plan appropriations in FY18, said USACE. Cashman has to complete work within 140 days after the notice to proceed, which is anticipated later this month.

The Quincy based dredging company will dispose all dredged material from this project in Bartram Island.
