Swedish marine energy company Minesto is looking for an Analyst/Oceanographer to join the company’s main test site facility in Portaferry, Northern Ireland.

As Minesto’s Analyst/Oceanographer, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, deploying, recovering and downloading tidal flow data from a variety of instruments.

Also, the role entails analyzing tidal flow and kite telemetry data using a variety of software tools, as well as handling the quarter scale prototype tidal device in varying sea conditions.

The Deep Green technology has been undergoing open sea testing in scale models at the demonstration site in Northern Ireland since 2010, according to Minesto.

The test site is used for the optimization of fundamental parts of the power plant such as the tether, the bottom joint and the electrical system.

The closing date for applying for the position has been set for May 31, 2018.

As reported earlier, the phased installation of Minesto’s 500kW Deep Green commercial plant has begun in Holyhead, Wales.
