GRI Towers Seville has loaded and shipped out four pinpiles built for the East Anglia One wind farm from the Port of Seville in Spain.

GRI Towers Seville provided the four pinpiles for the wind farm’s offshore substation. The pinpiles were loaded onto the general cargo vessel Palabora at the Armamento dock earlier this month. Spain’s Navantia is in charge of building the wind farm’s offshore substation.

Navantia, in collaboration with Windar, is also manufacturing 42 turbine jacket foundations and the accompanying 126 pinpiles for the project. The consortium handed over the first jackets in early March.

The 714MW East Anglia One is being developed by Iberdrola some 43 kilometres off the Suffolk coast, UK. The wind farm will comprise 102 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines installed on jacket foundations.

East Anglia One is scheduled for commissioning in 2020.
