Superkrane becomes Sparrows’ sole agent in Indonesia

Sparrows Group has appointed heavy lifting equipment supplier Superkrane as their sole agent in Indonesia.

UK’s offshore crane services specialist Sparrows Group has appointed heavy lifting equipment supplier Superkrane as their sole agent in Indonesia.

Sparrows said that the new agreement created a partnership that could deliver a broad range of equipment and services to the energy and industrial industries.

As part of the collaboration, Superkrane will have exclusive rights to supply Sparrow’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and components in the country.

This includes all crane brands that Sparrows hold intellectual property rights (IPR) such as American Aero, Houston System, Bucyrus Erie Marine, Weatherford, and Energy cranes.

The company added that Superkrane’s facility in Jakarta would become Sparrows’ base in the area.

Stewart Mitchell , Sparrows CEO, said: “Superkrane is a well-respected and established brand in Indonesia and our partnership with them allows us to assure quality and safety to our customers.

“There are over 200 cranes which we hold the IPR for in operation across Indonesia today and it is hugely important to us that customers know where they can purchase genuine OEM parts with a certified warranty.

“We have worked in Indonesia for a number of years but Superkrane’s impressive facility and local knowledge will support us in is expanding our service offering further, including the delivery of crane operator training.”

Linayati Sukardi , managing director of Superkrane, added: “As the only supplier in Indonesia we will stock in-demand parts at our facilities to ensure a fast and competitive service to the market.

“With the benefit of Sparrows’ expertise and experience, we look forward to being able to provide a larger range of services to both the offshore and onshore market.”
